Diary of our COVID 19 Lockdown | week 10 to 13

Since lockdown has started I began to a diary type account of what we have been up to both at home and with me as a key worker, so we can the look back and understand what happened, how we felt and the emotions of it all. This one falls of weeks 10 to 13, the biggest break in the diary so far, but what has happened over the last month? Animal Crossing has taken a lot of all our time! lol.

I’ll be honest, I’ve been very demotivated and busy with work and everything all at once, I’ve struggled to balance everything recently so thus this has fallen behind. On the flip, not a lot has happened as we continue to the new norm, with the kids at home and homeschooling and I’m still busy at work, the weathers been great at times with the kids, especially Roo taking advantage.

As I mentioned before the kids are perhaps getting a little bored with homeschooling, I completely understand that its great to spend time with the kids while doing it, and the schools have tried to do as much as they can, but there’s only so much for the kiddies to be excited about, at school they are surrounded by friends, and different experiences throughout the day and week, but doing the same every day I think has reached their limit, they haven’t said much or complained, but you can see it in their eyes, they still get on with it which I’m impressed about.

The good thing we have been able to do while the kids are at home, was a play area, we had multiple plans for the garden at the front and the back, but with the back is progressed over time to this, a zoned off play area with woodchip and sleepers, inside is the Wickey Playset, they come in different sizes and worth looking at, a full review is over at Boo’s site, but we this then became the focal point of this area, we are putting a couple of other things in there and tried to make the park experience at home, which is even more useful at the moment with the lockdown.

As for my work the kids maybe off, people may not be back at work, though this week will see much more go, and people should be still following rules, as each week has gone on more and more people are just out, those early frustrations I had in the first couple months is over now, I can’t even be bothered to be annoyed by it, the reality is Lockdown is over for many people, completely over,  if you have worked in reality over the last month you will have noticed it, I am that point now of “whatever”.

Boo’s work is still slow but just ticking over, this month should see a large number of people do at there work and should inturn see more opportunities around with companies looking to rebuild there trust and sales to people. I’m still at work a lot which means we are just surviving on money but hopefully long term we can get back to some normality. With the housing market reopening, we are able to move on trying to sell our previous house, we always have issues with buying, selling, renting so I’m not surprised that the lockdown started the week we agreed for it to go on the market, thus everything was they paused.

I will continue to keep these diaries going until September where hopefully kids go back to school, work settles down and life goes back to a little more normal, but that still seems a little way away, I have the thought it will never go back to how it was, so much as changed, it’s been a funny year.

Sounds like you have all had a good 3 weeks. The play area looks great. Shame to hear about the house and hope the sale goes smoothly now after the lockdown.
