My Top 5 Animated Films | Disney Classic

Animated films can mean a lot to us, whether it be when we were young, learning, having fun, or when we are older, enjoying or even reminiscing, One of the biggest companies in the world Disney has generally always been on top form and has a mighty collection of animated films that have always entertained us, ignoring the late 90’s and early 2000’s when they weren’t doing so well at that. Their library is so fast and the range can satisfy almost everyone.

With everything being said how do I do a list? well, I broke it first into Animated Disney films, there are plenty of animated films that are good, and that’s another list, I’ve also not added Pixar, part of the company for so long but there are also many Pixar branded films, and I felt it was easier if I did it separately, so these films were focused around the classics and the original Disney studio.

Frozen

In 2013 another Disney film was coming out, this one based on the Ice/Snow queen of Hans Christian Anderson story, but after the involvement of Pixar bosses the last couple of Disney films had turned a corner, Tangled, Princess and the frog, we were starting to see Disney get back to doing solid films, and then this came out, arguably no Disney film has had such an impact since Lion king, and turned out that Frozen has become one of there most successful animated films in history, it’s still well-loved, and with the sequel coming out recently the franchise is hugely popular, filled with a solid soundtrack that helps it be up there on most peoples list I would assume.

Wreck it Ralph

Wreck-it Ralph much like Frozen was part of the resurgence is quality Disney films, and for them, a little different as they went into the world of gaming, a little Toy story ESC but in the gaming world saw anti-hero Ralph looking for essentially friends and a Medal, as he partners up with unlikely Princess, I did enjoy this, as it had many references for my generation, the story was good and it wasn’t all about boy meets girl falls in love with songs every few minutes, it wasn’t that Disney story, it poked fun in real life much like number 2 in which there were many references.

Moana

Moana is a fantastic film, a very different film for Disney as it focuses on a different culture altogether, and focuses on early man lived in the oceans and islands, with the Rock Dwayne Johnson mega star power behind it as well it has had a big following, with most people who have seen have thoroughly enjoyed it, for me it rivals Frozen, and in the summertime, I would prefer to watch that, its songs and story are great, and gives you a nice summery relax feeling about it. This 2016 film for me is arguably one of there best though I often think it gets overlooked because of Frozen.

Lion King

In 1994 Lion king did what Frozen went on to do, its songs dominated the charts with Elton john and unlike frozen it had a couple that was huge, it used very high tech computer equipment at the time for its animation, there were even programs about it, it had a well-known cast, unlike most Disney films it had several names, Disney normally just has one or two if any, it spawned several lesser quality sequels and TV shows, as well as a highly rated Stage show.

Beauty and The beast

In that Late 80’s early 90’s run of quality Disney Films, Beauty and the Beast much like some of the other films made a big impact, the story was great and the songs again were ones that people still remember, in our household, it’s still a film that we regularly watch, it’s one of the more known stories an has been done in many variations at many times.

Overall

These films all get played often in our house, and generally, the music is as bigger part of the film than the story etc, only Ralph changes that, but like I said earlier these films often bring joy and happiness. When I look back, I don’t think I was a huge fan of some of the early stuff, don’t get me wrong like many, I’ve grown up and watched them all, and at the time I enjoyed them, but now when I sit and think about the whole library? I certainly have gone towards some of the more recent stuff.

Below are the Alternatives, there could have been another 10 more lol.

Robin Hood | One of the earlier ones that I watched and rewatched it several times

Little Mermaid | Same era as Lion king and is right up there in the films we enjoy

Aladdin | exactly like Mermaid, for me this is probably the 6th, I could have swapped it for Ralph

Zootropolise | I like this film and its a little underrated, more story that happy songs etc.

Jungle Book | Who doesnt like jungle book?

These are definitely the films that get played most in our house – although this week Aladdin seems to be the favourite and I’m sure Frozen 2 will take the lead when it comes on Disney+ this week!
