Diary From A Dad | August 2023

As each month goes by my Diary from a Dad look at what’s happening with our little family, through all the adventures, challenges and obstacles that come to our lives. As a family of 5, with 3 children at different ages every day, week and month can offer something different. The summer holidays month! well, it was but we were thrown into some changes and it didn’t pan out the way we would have wanted.

Summer Holidays are normally a busy month, we tend to quiet down the blogs and interaction and focus on the kids and our adventures, It has been the same now for a while but this year was a little different, we will come back to that. But with this in mind we focused on more local activities, see even professionally planning a mini holiday at the end of the month but this was shelved.

Days out

With Boo working with local activities this summer it was great to combine this, we visited the Great Yarmouth Sealife Center, a place that we have visited a few times over the years but we actually haven’t been for a little while, so it made a nice change to go back and for the kids to relive some memories.

Spending some time at the seaside over the summer allowed us to look around and take in the seaside etc, some fish and chips, a couple of activities and days out were nice. Another trip saw us spend time at the Model Village on the Great Yarmouth seafront, I had actually never been in there so it was a unique experience and well worth seeing at least once.

Frigby Hall

Frigby Hall is another mini wildlife park that I haven’t been in many years, again a nice relaxing day out and getting very close to animals, it’s not as busy as really big zoo’s so you have much more of a chance to get up close and take some time.

Pleasure beach

On another trip out we visited Pleasure Beach, a place well known in the grand scheme of things, it might not be as famous as the Blackpool one, but it’s a very old place, and its rollercoaster is iconic in those circles of theme park goers. For us, it was a day out, no extra special activities or events like the times before but a chance to see there no barcoded entries and rides etc..

Breaking news

More cinema trips with the kids, a rare outing for Boo and I, meant we were able to squeeze in some basic events for us. However with the news that we would be moving at the beginning of the next month, August changed for us, Moving a family of 5 in a relatively short period is tough, combining its hot, summer holidays, we both were still doing day jobs alongside blog etc, meant the month was hectic, more on the move next month.
