  • Diary of our COVID 19 Lockdown | September 2021

    Last year in March I decided to do a Lockdown Diary, these were weekly but with the return to a bit more normality, kids back to school everything starting to open, I moved it to Monthly, and with us still, in and out of Lockdown each month was continuing through our journeys. It was September! Kids returned to school, a mini holiday, a Birthday and an anniversary, an action-packed month.

    Ikea is one of the biggest furniture brands in the world and to be honest, in the Uk is one of the biggest brands, the Swedish company has a big following not just for the quality of products, but their showrooms and food, for people who live near the shops they can be a morning/afternoon out with a thorough look, food, and just general shopping look around.

  • School Return 2021 | Roo’s final countdown begins

    Roo being the eldest has been at school for what seems an age now, but as she returns to school this year the realization of the final countdown has begun, she now is in her most crucial time with the work towards her GCSE’s and beyond begins.

    With Roo approaching the final run at high school, Tigger is in his final year of primary school before his High school adventure begins, there is Piglet… the outspoken, confident, adventurous, demanding, a cheeky girl enters her first year, Nursery and Reception was over it was time for her to his the school properly, but how would she get on?

  • What are we looking forward to after Lockdown?

    With Lockdown hitting in 2020, and then two further lockdowns following we saw a stop-start time over several months, so much so over a year and for like ourselves we have seen very little out of either being at home or at work, the same goes for the children as they have also been either at home or a school…sometimes.

  • Roo the Baker

    Roo at a younger age enjoyed baking, she liked to be involved whether it was a school or with us in the kitchen, as she has got older she has enjoyed more baking and trying new baking techniques, let alone at her high school where she does even more baking, its one of those that hobbies shes enjoyed and stuck with her.

  • Keyworker Children

    During the Covid Outbreak and the following months and with the end still not exactly clear, there has been lockdowns, restrictions, challenges, obstacles and changes to all our lives, some of those changes will b the new norm, but with all of this and so many conversations about it all, including on my own blog, I wondered the last few days about how it affects my kids, who ultimately Keyworker children.

    Its Christmasssssss! normally Christmas is the best time of year for us and can be a busy and celebratory time of year, with so much happening this year, obstacles, Tiers, lockdowns etc… how would we be able to celebrate it? how would we feel about it? what could we do? so many questions this year in such an unusual one.

  • Kids Homework | What do we struggle with?

    As the kids are getting older their homework naturally gets tougher, with Roo now fully in the high school mode and staring down the GCSE’s, the level of Homework has shot up, being parents you will often get asked for help, whether its 5, 10 or 14 kids will always ask for some help and some point.

  • Halloween 2020

    Halloween in 2020 is going to be different, let’s face it, none of us has been able to do what we wanted to do this year but with Lockdown, Covid, restrictions and many challengers how would we be able to celebrate it? how would the kids still have some fun? That was the challenge this year, luckily in happened during our half term so that was a plus point to start off with.
