I started this to recap what has happened during the lockdown, with our Diary, thoughts, emotions and many other obstacles, now 14 weeks into it, we keep going until all the kids go back to school and we get back to some normality with work, and our daily lives.

The Week
This week was a bit of a rainy one with the build-up to fathers day in the back round, however, there were a couple of big things going on, one is fathers day and the other something we bought partly for fathers day and partly for the kiddies in general.
However Roo was not on form this week and it felt a bit of a run-in with her and her attitude, being a teenager its no surprise to witness an emotional response etc, but you could see the boredom and school work at home was really on her now, I had eluded to it over the last few weeks but this week felt it reached that point, a couple of stern chats seemed to have turned the corner.
Fathers Day
Fathers day this year, of course, was for muted than previous years, don’t get me wrong I’m not a big lover of celebrating myself and id rather focus on the kiddies but I get that this is part of the fun for the kids to celebrate fathers day, much like many other holidays and birthdays etc, so normally we would be popping out somewhere I combining with it one of our adventures out, this year though just fell into chilling at home, we did play on a present (more to come), but a film night, some takeaway, and generally just being at home with the kids was fine for me,
I wrote a post about gift guides for myself, but I would be happy whatever I got, and I was, with the addition of a newer slimline Small Nespresso machine (post coming later in the year), and some coffee pods, to be honest, there was a deal on pods and machine and as I need some more coffee I cheated a little lol.

A musical twist
The other big addition this week was Rock Band on Xbox One! On our Xbox one I decided to not buy games and just stay on using the Xbox Gamer Pass, however, I have a long history of playing Guitar Hero and Rockband games so I’ve always enjoyed them, but on this generation of consoles I haven’t really got it, much like many of us this generation just haven’t really taken to this interactive games like a previous couple of generations,
which is a shame because the game is great, the ability to have more songs and the fluidness of it all is fantastic, we got the set and focused on this because Roo likes to sing, Tigger is far better on drums, I like guitar and Boo likes to also sing, Roo has been doing some guitar as well but still in practice mode, i will sing the odd song lol.

Overall
Ovverall its been an ok week, I’m still doing lots of hours and balancing things which is why I get a little behind on here sometimes, meanwhile, kids are still doing school work and Boo is trying to do more work but it’s still slow. How’s your week been?

29 June 2020 at 2:34 pmWe had a similar week in our house, total meltdowns! I think the novelty of lockdown has definitely worn off now. Hope you are all having a good start to the new week! Sim
Rock band sounds like hours and hours of family fun, noisy but lovely family time!
Fathers definitely should be celebrated although I get what you mean, I’m the same with Mother’s Day!
29 June 2020 at 3:51 pmWe have just been debating about getting an console for my son who is quite musical. The Rock Band on Xbox One does sound like the perfect activity which we all can get involved in.

30 June 2020 at 4:54 pmIt’s nice to read what you’ve been up to. 14 weeks in, it is tough because I don’t think anyone thought it would go on this long! And lockdown coincided with me starting my own business so I’m pretty manic and ready for a holiday!
1 July 2020 at 7:40 amHaha I remember when rock band first came out! I never had it as I didn’t used to be interested in game consoles much really but my sister got it and she loved it! I think my son would love it as well… as long as I didn’t beat him that is lol my kids got their dad the usual socks and chocolate this year. We usually spend the day out somewhere different so we have decided to wait until we can do this
