  • My Top 5 Lego Sets for Xmas 2019

    Lego often appears in Toy lists, all year round, but especially at Xmas, and for many this is a good way to determine what’s good and what’s not. The same can be said in the Lego community and AFOL, they also have opinions on what sets are good, what’s not, what’s expensive, whats a waste of money, what figures it has, doesnt have etc… so with all these opinions, it can be difficult to determine what’s best. But if I was buying Lego this year with what’s currently out there and I hadn’t owned any sets, here’s my little list.

  • Advent Calendars

    As a family we have enjoyed Advent Calendars for many years, when Boo and I were first together before the kids we didn’t have them much, just a small chocolate one each, but to be honest it was just a way of having chocolate. Then as we had kids we, started to look more in detail and invest in Advent Calendars, just to add to the fun of Xmas.

    Bricklive is an event held during the year that celebrates all things Lego, these are held in big cities like London and Birmingham, They have been going a few years and have interaction with Lego, shops, and displays.

  • Lego 75957 – The Knight Bus

    Lego 75957, The Night Bus is based on the Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban Film, more so over the Book, and contains 3 Mini Figures and 403 pieces. It portrays Harry being collected on the Night bus with the Driver, Conductor and Shrunken Head in tow. This is the second version of the Bus, the last one came out in 2011 and is considerably different to that one.

  • Lego 75810 – Stranger Things – The Upside down

    ego 75810 is based on the popular Netflix show Stranger Things, in which it follows the events in the town of Hawkins, and the set shows the iconic scene of the Byers House both from the normal and the upside down. The Set has a healthy 2287 pieces and 8 mini-figures! alongside the snapshot of there house is the Sheriff’s car.

  • Lego 75955 Harry Potter Hogwarts Express

    Lego 75955 Hogwarts Express is part of the revised Harry Potter sets from the Wizarding World range. It contains 801 pieces and includes the Train, Kings Cross Station platform and 6 minifigures.

  • Lego 79003 – The Hobbit – Unexpected Gathering.

    Lego 79003, the Hobbit unexpected gathering set is one of the more iconic sets available. It has a modest 652 pieces and 6 mini-figures. It’s based on Bilbo Baggins House (hobbit hole) and from the trilogy of films The Hobbit. (the house is also in Lord of the rings)

    Lego 21319 is the Friends TV Series set, focused around Central Perk coffee shop and features 7 Minifigures and a strong 1070 pieces. Its release is also to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the show that was hugely successful and one of the most iconic TV shows in history, but it also pat of the Lego Ideas range

  • Lego 75243 slave 1 – 20th Anniversary

    Lego 75243 Slave 1 – 20th Anniversary set is the largest of the sets to celebrate 20 years of Lego and Star Wars. It has 1007 pieces compared to its previous version, which only has 165! Pieces. It also has 5 minifigures inclusive of special 20-year prince’s Leia.

  • Lego 76104 The Hulkbuster smash-up

    Lego 76104 The Hulkbuster smash-up (odd name) is set on the avenger’s infinity war film. It has 375 pieces and 4 mini-figures with a recommended price of £29.99, it’s the second incarnation of the hulk buster, there’s also a UCS of Hulkbuster but that’s a story for another day.
