Perfect Activities Ideas For You And Your Children, Not everyone is gifted when it comes to crafting. Some people are just naturally creative oozing with ideas and can put some of those beautiful Pinterest posts to shame. Other people struggle a little.

But one thing I think we can all agree on is most children love the opportunity to do some crafts and explore with materials and make things. So I thought I would share with you some simple crafting ideas for you and the children. Hopefully, it might ignite a passion inside you to do it more often.

Get baking in the kitchen

Children love to bake, and it’s an activity that everyone involved can enjoy. You can also make it fairly educational by encouraging your children to work out and weigh out the ingredients themselves. Younger children take satisfaction in getting their hands involved with the ingredients or being in charge of the wooden spoon.

Some people shy away from baking because of the potential mess it can make, but in theory, preparation can eliminate some of that. Once you get into the swing of things and your children know what to it, it could become a regular and enjoyable activity you all do together.

Teach them to sew

If you like sewing, then the chances are this is a crafting project that is right up your street. But sometimes it can feel a little too much like hard work to involve children. However, this is where you are wrong.

Of course, the first thing to consider, if you don’t have one already, or a spare one even, would be to invest in a sewing machine. If you can have more than one, then it could make a crafting session much easier. Use this time to pass on skills you have learned, and it could develop into a lovely hobby your children enjoy.

Use occasions as inspiration

Sometimes it’s hard to think up a crafting activity on the spot, so if you find yourself in this dilemma then use any upcoming events as your inspiration. For example, Valentine’s day is coming up in February so you could use your crafting time to make cards or other Valentine-inspired crafts. You just have to do a quick google search to be hit with many different ideas for all crafting levels.

Don’t be afraid of a little mess

Crafting can cause a mess, be that painting, bits of card, or ingredients from a baking session. So try and get over this by accepting the madness and mess that comes with any crafting session. Instead, just enjoy being in that moment with your children and allowing them to be creative and learn something new. A tip to overcome the mess is to prepare as much as you can in advance.

Sometimes the simplest of crafts are the best

Finally, don’t assume the most complicated of projects will be the most fun and rewarding. For children, even the simplest of crafts like drawing or colouring in can be the most fun and rewarding.

I hope this has inspired you to get a little more crafty with your children.
