Diary of our COVID 19 Lockdown | September 2021

Last year in March I decided to do a Lockdown Diary, these were weekly but with the return to a bit more normality, kids back to school everything starting to open, I moved it to Monthly, and with us still, in and out of Lockdown each month was continuing through our journeys. It was September! Kids returned to school, a mini holiday, a Birthday and an anniversary, an action-packed month.

Diary

Back to School

The kids were back at school Hooray! as I mentioned last month the kids were at that point about going back, and I did a blog post for each kid about returning to school, but needless to say, it was good timing and hopefully a chance to get back to some normality.

Though Roos start was a bit weird with a midweek start, however, a Covid Test day, then school day, then some activities etc, weekend, holiday. But as I detailed in the posts all 3 were facing new challenges in their School year, with Tiggers Last year of Primary School, Piglet in a proper year group now, and Roo is in the final 2-year countdown at High School.

Holidays and events

Summer was a muted one with delays, cancelations, Roo being on Crutches, low on money, and general concerns over Covid etc, so we had planned as a treat for the kids, some time at Butlins. This was booked a little while ago but of course, with everything happening and Roo getting injured we were never convinced ongoing, literally up until the weekend before we still hadn’t fully decided on being able to go, but we did and for the kids, it was a fantastic time for them, it’s still one of there favourite places to go.

The fact we saw Justin Fletcher perform was great as all three kids have grown up watching his shows and was a great treat, needless to say, the kids had fun in the swimming pool, eating their buffet food, and seeing some shows but it is a great time for them to visit, its still a place they refer to and talk about regularly and this trip was great, its a lovely area and lovely place to visit.

We did combine the holiday with my Birthday, with money tight at the moment I would rather spend it on them and the holiday, and the same goes for the Anniversary, neither events were very big but we saved the money, spent time together, and as a family had some fun.

It’s been a tough couple of years so, in reality, we should be grateful for the family we have, so just chilling eating some takeaway watching a film as a family or trying to do an activity together is enough. I did manage to pop out with my friends for an evening, a very rare chance based on the last couple of years but it was nice to have a bit of fun etc.

Autumns here

Next month is Halloween! one of my best events, Autumn is my favorite time of year and we head straight into it, it is always this time of year I love and the time that gives me those feelings to be around my family etc, I’m much more of an Autumn person that Summer or spring.

I get some are summer people or love the warm weather but for me, im much more comfortable with the mixed weather, and that time of year is just the best. With pumpkin spice, new TV, birthdays, Christmas music all approaching its just great to see and hear.
