At the start of lockdown I decided to record our weekly lives within the lockdown Diary, the kids and Boo have been stuck mostly at home while i was at work most days as a key worker, during this time I can record our emotions, thoughts, and the goings-on, this week nothing special extra special was happening, but there were some small things that made our weeks.
Looking back this week it’s odd to think that 3 things made our week, and they were all food-based lol, Tigger is a fussy eater, though he has got better over the years one of his favourites and a go-to meal if we are short of options on the road, is Mcdonalds, this week he had his first in nearly 5 months, which isn’t a big deal but for him it was fantastic!
In a similar vein KFC had brought there offer back for 9 pieces of chicken for £5.99, I don’t get much takeaway etc these days, and I didn’t have any Mcdonalds like the rest but I do enjoy KFC chicken, and when they have this on offer its worth getting as it covers a couple of meals for me, as I reheat it. Again for me, I haven’t had this in maybe 6 months, I actually don’t remember lol.
We had the fortune of seeing my sister and her family this week, this is the first time we had seen them in months, as both my mum and sister have health problems and we stayed away for obvious reasons, however, they popped over this week and my nieces stayed over, which was great for Roo as she hadn’t spent much time with other people for again several months, and them being close of age unlike the rest of the children in the family they get to spend some girl time together.
The next day though saw us drop her off back at home, which was in town 30 miles away, however, this gave Roo and I the opportunity to have a Starbucks Coffee! which if you know me by now, I love coffee, and this was the first Starbucks in 5 months, she had a cookie and creme Frappacinno while I had an iced Machiatto, needless to say, this was delightful.
With the weather up and down and me confirming a week off in 3 weeks, there’s some good stuff to come, plus I need the rest.
Being at home all the time pretty much makes me focused on food!9 July 2020 at 3:40 pm
I’m after a Starbucks myself when I get round to it. It’s long overdue I normally 2 -3 a year. The frappuccino sounds delicious!9 July 2020 at 4:45 pm
Your post has made me hungry! My son loves McD, my husband Starbucks and myself KFC and we still have not got our fix yet so reading your post has made me want to go get our share this week9 July 2020 at 8:32 pm
This lockdown has made me cook more meals for my family than I ever did before the CoVid scare. Thankfully, they have recognized my efforts and every Friday is “Order Take Out” Day so I can have a break from cooking. Today we’ll be having Domino’s pizza and burgers from McDonalds. Yummy.10 July 2020 at 6:23 am
