Over the years the kids have been brought up on Family Games Night and having a variety of board games, puzzles, family games in the house, often they are learning-based ones, working up to more fun and mess around ones, these have often been bought at Xmas and birthday, or when we have looked for bargains, there also something that the kids tend to look at shops to swat up what they want.

Going back
Even as far back as when Roo was a Toddler we have Orchard based educational games or there mini ones, this chain has continued through each child, unfortunately, they haven’t survived each child to the next but they have had a different selection each time, to be honest with both Tigger and then Piglet each older child has then helped out on those.

This hasn’t just stopped with the younger more educational ones, the puzzles were fun, the matching games were fine, but then as the older two got older the bigger funnier ones were the draw, though piglet likes seeing them play the Toilet game or the variety of pop up pirates, buckaroo, and pull my finger type ones, the older two like the fun of it them. ( i realise I’m old and have the old name terms on my mind)

Some Family Games Night
Roo though now being much older tends to like to play with her friends or Tigger with older versions, Monopoly, with its variations, Game of Life, Cluedo etc.. are more common for her to play now, at least once a week they will both play together on one of the games, Roo also really loves a game of Bingo, which is great because Boo and I also enjoy the odd game of Bingo with them.

Even with all their technology, Toys, TV etc.. the kids still like to play board games, mini-games etc, which is a great thing to help there development and creativity, plus its one of the few things they still play together. Boo and I came from that era where games were still a major thing, and we still promote those games, they can be fun, they can be competitive, you can have fallings out, you can lose pieces, you can get frustrated, but all of us will have some sort of memory of playing games, whether it is good or bad, puzzles, mini-games, or big games, we have all had fun once.
