The Lego 76123, Captain America, Outriders attack is based on the Avengers Endgame movie and has 167 pieces including 4 minifigures, Retail price is £19.99 but also includes a motorcycle. This is one of the smaller sets from the range but focuses on Captain America battling the Outriders, which for many are used to bulk out their Army of them.
I’m a big fan of Marvel, and the Avengers Films like many people, I tend to buy all Lego sets that are based on the Marvel films, especially as Tigger is also a big fan and enjoys the build. The Infinity wars sets and previous avengers sets have generally been ok, and most good to be honest with of course the Shield Hellicarrier being one of our favourites, so with the Endgame film out and these sets available it had to be bought. Due to the size of the set this review isn’t a per bag that I would normally do, just an overview.
The Build…
The minifigure selection is mainly outriders but Captain America takes centre stage, and there have been many versions but this one is, of course, different in this range due to the nature of the film. His Helmet is moulded and dawns an A inside with wings each side the dark navy blue with this design aswell is very similar to the film. As is the White suit that he wears for parts of the film, this is great and compares very closely to the film, and lastly, he has a shield which is pretty standard.
Two of the Outriders have extra arms in their design, this isn’t the first time they have been done and they sport Gold and black design mechanical trim. They have gold claws which I’m not thrilled about, they’re fine on a Wolverine or Ninja type Figure, but I’ve never been convinced of these on them, nor am I overall with the design, but that’s personal taste, I completely understand that their design is very difficult in Lego world so in reality, I can’t complain.
The third Outrider doesn’t have those additional arms but also has shoulder armour, which shows a nice variant, he also has gold claws but as I mentioned earlier, people would be keen to add both variants to there armies.
The Avenger Motorcycle is different to other ones that the Cap has been with, and to be honest, even though these vehicles have been done multiple times, this is a little different to ones I’ve done before. The basic base of the structure is, in essence, simple with both parts joining on at each end, but the front has different way of mounting the wheels and more importantly a disc shooter is constructed into this front part, a nice visible piston ESC design in the middle, is made where Cap sits, and then at the back wheels are also attached to complete the base model.
With this the design has a bar to keep in up in the side, which is great for play and display value, flames coming out of the exhausts at the back is a great touch while at the front mountable guns also shoot flames for a visible extension of the whole model, which at this point looks very long.
Overall…
Overall the set is fine, the mini-figures including an exclusive Captain America is probably worth the price alone, especially for those army builders, the play value of the set is very good, with Tigger easily able to enjoy it, with shooters and figures he has fun. The build itself to no surprise is very easy, the colours and design are good with the navy and silver, blending in with Cap, the flames are all theatrical but its good for play value.
However like a few of these sets, this has no relevance to the film, I’m just assuming at this point that they had no knowledge of anything to do with the Endgame film, and guessed or decided to no look at actual events, this is my main gripe. The set is cheap but then the piece count is low, so it’s fine, it’s not a terrible set at all and clear enough to make a good present or play value, I would imagine collectors may stay away from this in reality.
