Loot Crates are a Mystery box/crate that you can purchase, these can be sent to you and are themed and full of pop culture memorabilia. This Crate is the first in the Trilogy of LOTR themed special Crates and focuses round the first film, “The one Ring has awoken and a new journey must begin, The fates of many are tied to the most unlikely of creatures, a Hobbit of the shire. But one cannot simply walk into Mordor…Thus forms the Fellowship of the ring”
Heads up, LOTR is my favourite thing… and also is one of Tiggers favourites, so the opportunity to purchase this trilogy of crates was a must, even though I’ve not had much luck with Loot Crates this last year. However, after many delays (more to come), this arrived and we finally managed to see what was in the box.
Exclusive Frodo Secrets Tee
“Hobbits know not of the darkness rising outside of the shire. For which Gandalf was truely grateful, think back to happier days with this shirt” A black Tee with a nice design, picture not as clear as it was a bit creased lol, but the design is nice, not perhaps the most exciting but fine, as it’s in my size, ill be keeping this one.
Exclusive One Ring Key chain
“Keep it Secret, Keep it Safe! The One Ring is your burden to carry alone.” The Ring Keychain is great!, the ring is much bigger and can’t really fit on your finger, which actually is good because someone might try and then get it stuck lol, also as I explained to Tigger, Sauron and the ring is much bigger than an average person, the keychain is also in gold, stands out a little on keys etc..if your fashion-minded lol.
Exclusive Prancing Pony Stein
“A Keepsake from the Hobbits first destination, where they learned that some drinks come in pints!” An excellent mug, I like the old fashion design with a metal plaque of the prancing pony on the actual mug, it’s a good size in which I assume is a pint. I and Tigger will share this though he’s a bit young for it yet, lol.
Exclusive Middle Earth Patch Set
“Frodo took it upon himself to bring the Ring to Mordor, but he did not know the way. Let these patches serve as a reminder of his journey” We aren’t the biggest fans of patches, however, I like the designs covering The Shire, Moria, and Mordor, the finish is very good and for those that like patches, I’m sure these are good. My only criticism of this is the choices if they have chosen 3, and landmarks on the way, especially from the first films, then the shire is fine, Moria is a good choice, but Mordor is one that could be replaced, I would have liked the Elvish home of Rivendell instead leaving Mordor for a future one.
Exclusive Balrog Travel Mat
“Samwise the Brave was by Frodo’s side throughout it all, but there was nothing in his pack that could have prepared the Fellowship for an Ancient evil born of Shadow and Flame…” The Mat which is much more like a warm blanket, is fantastic, it’s actually nice to feel and the design of the balrog with Gandalf looks good, its really big, much bigger than I would think, with straps attached for rolling up and rolling out easily.
Exclusive Gandalf Socks
“The paths we Travel change even the wisest among us for all time. Gandalf will accompany you on this journey no matter what form he takes.” We didn’t actually get these, which is a big disappointment, even with the delays to this crate, which there has been many, we had a cheeky note saying they will be sending a replacement in the new crates
Overall
Overall its an ok start, many things in here were good, like the blanket(mat), the mug, the Tee shirt is fine, and even though I like the Ring, I understand that some will feel its a little cheap and a tiny bit tacky, I’m not a huge fan of patches I would have prefered badges buts that personal choice so not a knock on them.
As ever it seems, its the constant delay that’s let me down, and then not to get all things advertised in there is just very silly, for such a big supposed company I’m surprised by this, but their delays and customer service haven’t been very good, there was another cheeky note but this time saying they had given us something extra instead, this was a little figurine. Hopefully, they will pull it back in the net two boxes if and when they are sent, but I’m already concerned as I’m yet to have the second upon this writing. As ever please bare this in mind.
