Diary of our COVID 19 Lockdown | February

Last year in  March I decided to do a Lockdown Diary, these were weekly but with the return to a bit more normality, kids back to school everything starting to open, I moved it to Monthly and with us still in Lockdown each month was continuing through our journeys. Its February! it may not be a miserable month historically like January but its often the first change of the tide in the year, and even in Lockdown it potentially was.

With Vaccinations popping out and announcements from the Government in plans and easing of the lockdown for many the month was probably a bit more optimistic, we may still be head deep in the lockdown right now but the fact there’s potentially an end in sight raised peoples spirits, let alone the multitude of companies beginning to plan, this was evident at the end of the month with attractions, sporting, events all starting to filter out info.

Schools Were announced! so Piglet and Tigger were still at school as we were keyholders, with Boo and I juggling child care, Roo was given a return date at the end of the month, along with the complicated procedure upon her return, but that was a story for next month.

However, we had to plan and start looking at what work looks like, schools, and child care, in reality, its been a year in this lifestyle and things have tweaked and changed so with the pending changes and let’s be honest uncertainty for the rest of the year, we need to start planning.

Let it Snow

But two big things happened in February…Snow! we had snow for almost 2 weeks, and it was fairly thick for a week, where we live snow is less common as we are so low and surrounded by a fair amount of coast, so it’s only really west of the county that gets some, recently though we have really had much since the beast for the east, and that’s probably it for the last 5 years etc.

so for the kiddies, they haven’t had lots of time to be in the snow, especially Piglet who has practically no interaction with Snow, so she jumped at the chance to play with it, the kiddies also had lots of fun with it and it such a nice change for us.

Pancake day

The other big thing in our household is Pancake day!  It’s the best thing in Feb! we don’t really do much else and we don’t celebrate Valentine’s day, to be honest as we are much more bothered about our Anniversary than that, but the girls love Pancakes, I’ve done a post on how much we love this day.

Once again with was that time for Piglet and Roo, unfortunately, with Tigger being a fussy eater he doesn’t like them and Boo isn’t fussed, I will eat them as I like maple syrup on mine…and I’m happy with American based ones, but the other two girls love traditional pancakes with Nutella, needless to say, they have a lot of them on the day.

Next month?

It wasn’t too bad a month overall, I think I’m still abit quiet and low key with everything that’s happening, it’s still a struggle with a variety of things but hopefully, countries on the turn and many plans and projects we had will be on the turn, March should be a month where we look forward, especially as it will be a solid year into whats been going on, but will it? how much more info will we have by the end of the month?
