Diary From A Dad | December 2022

As each month goes by my Diary from a Dad look at what’s happening with our little family, through all the adventures, challenges and obstacles that come to our lives. As a family of 5, with 3 children at different ages every day, week and month can offer something different. It was December and that meant Christmas!!! with a limited work schedule and school, it was all about family time and celebrating.

After a Busy month

Coming off November, a busy month of activities, Birthdays etc we headed straight into December with that mindset, it is a busy month still, but like most, it certainly decreases as the month goes on. With school and Work, this was the case, the kids were counting it down and they broke up over a week before Xmas this year.

While Boo being an office worker and using some Annual leave meant she had some time off over Xmas, let alone that social media and influencer work goes on a little pause over the two weeks off Xmas. This is partly so we can focus on real life and kids etc, while many other companies also close.

The Annual outing

I had my annual outing with Friends, we have same dotted around the country and some locally, with our busy lives it’s actually quite tough getting everyone together, this year for me I thankfully wasn’t organising it for once. This year saw us head to Estabulo and some Axe throwing afterwards, for once though I was able to bring Boo!

After someone pulled out last minute, we took a risk and got Roo to babysit, and asked Boo to go. We really haven’t been out many times since we had kids, and we were perhaps finally at that point where we can do outings like this.

Cinema time

Even with a busy month and Christmas, Tigger and I also managed to pop out for a Cinema trip, the previous month we got to see Black Adam, and this month we got to see Black Panther. As you may know, we love Marvel so Tigger and I often go to see these films.

At Christmas time, Granny visited which meant Boo and I had another chance to go out! this time we also went to the cinema to see Avatar and have a meal, this was partly to celebrate her birthday as well.

Its Christmas time

Christmas though was here, and I’ve done a separate post about our annual celebrations, so check that out for more detail. but as I said this year’s extra special thing for Xmas was that Granny was staying for Xmas and New year, this was great as she lived far away the kids don’t get to see her as much.

With slight car issues, as Boo’s Car was last minute developed a problem, this meant Boo had to get her with my car to enable the visit still, while Boo’s car sat out over Xmas, waiting for the garage to see it, which as you can guess was delayed much longer than any other time of year.

However, Christmas was here, like I see we all had a limited schedule which meant we were around, even my work was a few days off in and around Xmas, this was great and allowed me to cook, eat, chill out, and spend time with the family. I normally take charge of food etc, while Boo took charge of presents etc, and we shared the decorations in and out of the house, again I go more into detail with the Christmas post.

With the New year arriving it was going to be an interesting year, let’s face it the last few have given us some challenges and some pretty worldly developments. I’m already approaching it with the view that no doubt something will happen, but onto January we go.
