Diary of our COVID 19 Lockdown | week 18

At the beginning of lockdown I decided to do a diary of our lives within, with myself being a key worker I was still at work, the kids and Boo were at home under lockdown rules. Fast forward 18 weeks things are now slightly different, though I’m still at work the kids are generally been at home.

Schools out for Roo

This week saw the end of the school year on our minds, Roo’s last week was upon us, she had been doing lots of homeschool work but in reality, this was enough for her, plus the other issue is she is generally a busy girl, even a school day she would have stuff before during and after school, her days would be long and busy,

But that’s what she wants to do etc, so with all this going on you could tell she was bored a lot of the time, summer and half terms are traditionally her downtimes, and we try to make the most of it because she puts so much into school, but this year has been tough for her.

Tigger has his last full week, for some random reason he has 2 more days of homeschooling next week but hey ho, like roo though this has been a tough week especially, trying to get them to be motivated this week has been tough, Tigger though battled through and had a trip to school for a session in seeing his friends, new class and new teacher, ready for next year, he seemed to enjoy it. However, at the weekend his cousin stayed over for the first time in months, which allowed him to have some more fun.

Piglet fun

Piglet like Tigger had her last full week with those extra 2 days next week coming, but she has been at school unlike the other two, she does enjoy her school but I don’t think its perhaps been the normal experience, with the addition of the play area and toys, she has been busy playing supermarket and playing in the garden when the weather has been good, though her favourite part was visiting he auntie and holding her Guineapig.

Boo and I have been busy, I’ve still been busy at work picking up as many shifts as I can as money is obviously still tight, but in reflection, this week with so many peoples jobs in doubt, or they have already lost them, I’ve been thinking I’m grateful of the job. Boo work is still slow and the rest of the year being also slow is dawning on us, this will make it a tough year, we still haven’t sold our old house….obviously for us.

Next week?

Next week is my last week of work before only my second week off since last October, while it’s the beginning of summer holidays!!!!!

I work in a school and although we’ve been desperately counting down to the holidays it’s the most odd end of term feeling!

Enjoy your week off and I hope the kids have a great, well deserved summer holiday x

My grandson just finished a refresher course (full online) and is about to start regular school (virtual classroom learning) on the 2nd week of August. It is really something new that he needs to get used to. I know kids need to socialize too, but for now, I believe virtual classroom learning/full online classes is the best option to continue his education.

The school year has been so wacked this year. It’s holidays now but feels like we have been on holiday all year. Playing supermarkets sounds fun!

Thanks to lockdown it makes the length of time off school even more boring. We’re looking for things to do that are safe but fun. I thought the schools had all closed. Mine all finished last week.

Sounds like you and your family are winding down and getting ready for the summer holidays as us. I am just gonna spend the next week relaxing with the kids.

It has been a tough time for you all, I am sure. Glad work is still busy for you which must be a relief with Boo’s work slowing down – I know the feeling! Hope you enjoy your time off xx
